Mission
GlobeMed aims to strengthen the movement for global health equity by empowering students and communities to work together to improve the health of the impoverished around the world.
Description
GlobeMed is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that partners university students with grassroots health organizations around the world to improve the lives of people living in poverty. GlobeMed seeks to address the lack of capacity-building support for community-based organizations working on the front-lines of global health. By engaging undergraduate students in a meaningful and responsible manner to build this capacity, GlobeMed is preparing a new generation of leaders committed to social justice and global health.
GlobeMed at the University of Virginia is partnered with Build Your Future today outside of Siem Reap, Cambodia. BFT is committed to helping people, especially children, overcome situations of trememdous hardship and poverty. BFT is committed through an orphanage center and various community building projects.
